At the entrance to the reception hall, the bride and groom must break a special bread together. The one who gets the larger piece is said to become the head of the household. Then, they each dip a piece into salt, a symbol of protection against misfortune.<\/p><p>Dancing is also a central element of Bulgarian weddings. The <strong>horo<\/strong>, a circle dance where everyone holds hands, is essential. It symbolizes unity and shared joy.
