From there, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiscoverytravel.com\/en\/2024\/05\/03\/transports-et-deplacements-en-bulgarie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">head toward<\/a> the Panichishte ski area, where a chairlift operates during the warmer months, taking you to the Rilski Ezera Lodge, the perfect spot to begin your hike. The chairlift ride lasts about 20 minutes and, being exposed at high altitudes, can get chilly\u2014even in summer.<\/p><p>If you prefer to start on foot, you can hike up to the lodge, though it\u2019s a steep climb. Taking the chairlift saves time and energy, allowing you to fully enjoy the lakes once at the top.<\/p><p>Personally, I\u2019ve tried both options. In 2014, I hiked up on foot. Just hope your imagination works well, or you might find yourself examining each curve of water like a detective.<\/p><p>Of course, you\u2019ll find more classic names like the Lower Lake (Dolnoto ezero). It\u2019s named that because it\u2019s the first lake starting from the bottom. However, the highest lake isn\u2019t called the \"Upper Lake\" or the \"Top Lake.\" Its name is \"The Tear.\" Perhaps because you\u2019ll cry when you get to the top (either from its beauty or the steep climb). Or maybe because it resembles a tear... Either way, it\u2019s worth making it to the top.
